Bio
Queen Penelope joined BYU-Idaho's "International View" as the first female co-host in January 2012. Unintimidated by her forgein male counterparts, Penelope raises her voice on issues that matter most to her. She is a spark and a persuasive flame on topics ranging from fashion to global politics. In 2007 she was honored to be first runner up in a local Jr. Miss Pagent, and worked to help her community become aware of the teenage female awkward stage. Before graduating from Sugar-Salem High School, in Idaho, Penelope served as Sugar-Salem's Future Farmer's of America President, took part in two competitive State Volleyball Championships, was awarded the American farmer degree, and was a member of the softball, track, and basketball teams. She also achieved state recognition in a drama competition, and from Business Professionals of America.
"The International View" is an original web based talk show with a primary purpose of exposing common issues and discussing events surrounding Brigham Young University-Idaho's campus on a more global scale. Penelope is able to contribute to "The International View" because her everyday campus experiences have included several different facets of campus. Upon her arrival to the University she immediately became involved in the Volleyball Program, and eventually coordinated it in the Fall of 2010. She was also an active campaign manager for one of the 2010 campaigns for campus president. She has also participated in tutoring presentations for the communication department, anatomy and biochemistry and molecular techniques for the biology department. Penelope recently returned from an internship in Sacramento, California, doing autism spectrum for Veronica Martinez lab's research in Shriners Hospital for Children.
Penelope is a well-rounded individual who is active and enjoys hiking the Grand Canyon and backpacking in Grand Teton National Park with her family. Penelope also enjoys running triathalons with her family members. Her latest adventure has been marrying her best friend Tony. She enjoys sharing her opinion on "The International View" and learning more about people.
